A New Beginning for Cedar Primary School

The Governing Body of Cedar Primary School have resolved to become an academy and have approached the DfE to allow the school to join the Thinking Schools Academy Trust.

TSAT is a family of schools which work collaboratively, helping each other to secure the best outcomes for all pupils. Following a presentation to the Governing Body from the senior leaders of TSAT, the Governing Body felt that, by joining TSAT, the school would be well supported to continue their journey of school improvement. It would enable Cedar to work alongside schools who have successfully closed gaps in children’s learning and secured good levels of attainment and progress.

The CEO of Thinking Schools Academy Trust, said: “At TSAT we are very excited at the prospect of Cedar Primary joining our Trust. We have a strong track record of school improvement and we look forward to an exciting future of improving outcomes for pupils at Cedar.”

The consultation period starts on 22 February with a meeting for parents and it is anticipated that Cedar will be part of the Trust from 1 June 2016. In the meantime, TSAT is working positively with the Governing Body, the Local Authority and the Senior Leaders of Cedar to support them through this period.
