Students at the Victory Academy are today celebrating after collecting their exam results in A Level and vocational qualifications.

The Academy is particularly proud to continue its excellent track record of success in the vocational subjects, where students made impressive progress.

Students at the Academy will go on to study at universities across the country – including De Montfort University, Loughborough University, the University of Greenwich, and the University of Kent.

Their hard work and excellent results will see them take up a range of subjects as diverse as Business Management, Architectural Engineering and Design Management, and Physical Education and Sport Management.

Some of the most notable achievements include:

  • Viktoria Kolesnikovaite – will go onto study Business Management at the University of Kent after receiving A*AAB. Viktoria joined the Academy in 2011 after moving from Lithuania, and English is her second language. She has benefitted from the broad range of subjects offered by the partnership of The Victory Academy with Holcombe Grammar, both part of the Thinking Schools Academy Trust.
  • Devon Maynard – will go on to fulfil his dream of becoming a PE teacher by studying Physical Education and Sport at the University of Greenwich, after achieving the highest possible grades in his BTEC Sport with D*D*D*. He has worked with a singular focus throughout his time at the school and been a role model to the school community – consistently supporting the PE Department with whole-school activities.
  • Brett Hawley – was inspired by the Victory Academy’s very successful Product Design Department when joining the school in 2011, and has now achieved a place on the very competitive Architectural Engineering and Design Management course at Loughborough University.
  • Ruslans Kuprijanovs – achieved the highest possible grades in his BTEC Sport and will be studying Sport Management at the University of Kent. English is his second language, and in his time at the Academy he has become a highly valued volunteer member of the PE Department.

The Victory Academy’s strength in the Creative Arts and Sport in particular has been recognised by multiple recent accolades.

Arts Council England’s coveted Platinum Artsmark celebrates the Victory Academy’s commitment to arts and cultural education – as well as its strong partnerships with organisations in this sector.

The Academy has also recently achieved the Gold School Games Mark for the current academic year, which celebrates its commitment, engagement and delivery of competitive school sport – as shown in some of the individual successes at A Level.

Mandy Gage, Principal of The Victory Academy, said:

“We are so thrilled with the brilliant results achieved by our students in their A Levels and vocational subjects this year.

“Their success is down to their own hard work and continuous drive to succeed, the personal commitment and enthusiasm shown by our superb teachers, and the continued support of our valued parents. I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to this year’s results.

“We look forward to continuing our exciting trajectory in the coming years, and I wish all of our leaving students the best of luck in their next adventure, including those going on to study a range of exciting courses at university.”
