Our Trust Celebrates Outstanding GCSE Results
Today has been a great day filled with emotion and happiness with many students experiencing incredible GCSE results.

Goodwin Academy is celebrating an improvement in GCSE results across the board today. An improvement of 10% in the English & Maths grade 4+ basic score highlighted the progress made by these departments with Maths increasing their grade 4+ attainment by 11% and English grade 4+ by 7% and grade 5+ by 8%.

Students and staff at The Victory Academy are celebrating strong GCSE results again this year – higher than last year’s in every key category. There was a seven percentage point rise from last year in the proportion of students who achieved a Grade 4 or better in English and in maths and a five percentage point increase on 2018 in the proportion who were awarded a Grade 5 or better (defined as a strong pass) in both subjects.

Holcombe Grammar School is delighted with another successful year of GCSE results. Provisional analysis shows higher progress scores for all students, with disadvantaged students achieving an average of half a GCSE grade better than expected when they started at the school aged 11.

Students and staff at Rochester Grammar School (RGS) are overjoyed to be collecting some brilliant GCSE results today – with well over half of all exam results graded 7 or above (equivalent to an A or above). This means the high-performing school is on track to achieve a Progress 8 score of over 0.8 – this is provisional but would mean that on average the school is adding almost a whole grade per subject to what each student was expected to achieve when they joined RGS aged 11.

Students and staff at The Portsmouth Academy are celebrating another fantastic set of GCSE results – with praise for their results coming from Schools Minister Lord Agnew. The Year 11 2019 students (40% of whom come from disadvantaged backgrounds), have managed to gain on average in excess of 8 qualifications each, with a quarter of these grades at 7+ (equivalent to A*/A).

The Trust is incredibly proud of the hard work both students and staff have shown today throughout the academic year!
