Meon Junior School begin Field Gun Training to represent Portsmouth this summer

Last week, Meon Junior school took part in a fantastic Field Gun Training taster session. Our boys and girls came together to build their own Junior Field Gun Team that will represent Portsmouth at the city’s Armed Forces Day, in June!

The sessions saw students practice with the field gun and experience what a real-life contest would be like. They teamed up and used various Royal Navy commands to transport a field gun and its equipment through a series of obstacles in the shortest time.

Students couldn’t believe the “strength” they had between them and left our visitors super impressed with their perseverance and ability to work as a team.

Now the hard work begins! Over the next six weeks, Mrs Faye will be working with the children to train them up and prepare them for the main arena competition on Portsmouth Armed Forces Day.
Good Luck Meon Junior School!

The trainers from Future Fit Junior Field Gun have left some special messages for our children after spending a wonderful day with them.
