All Faiths Children’s Academy in Medway is celebrating after being presented with an award ‘for assessed excellence in meeting quality standards across their Nurture Group provision’. The support group based at the school, which helps pupils who demonstrate their feelings through a range of behaviours, was awarded the Quality Mark Award by the national Nurture Group Network. The Thinking Schools Academy Trust (TSAT) today confirmed the permanent appointments of the Trust’s Chief Executive Officer, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, and Director of Secondary Education. The appointments of, respectively, Stuart Gardner, Lee Miller and Gwynn Bassan, mean that TSAT has a strong Executive, completed by our excellent Director of Primary Education, Claire Stevens. Rakesh Vashisht, Head of Maths at The Victory Academy, has been selected as a winner for the Kent Teacher of the Year Awards 2017. Schools within our Trust all took part in Red Nose Day to raise needed funds with the help of their School Councils and Parent and Teacher Associations. The schools’ held ‘wear something red’ and ‘Red Nose Photobooth’ events, along with other events that they put on to raise money for the charity.  This year, the charity has raised an amazing £73,026,234, which keeps growing.  The money will help to transform the lives of those in the UK and the world’s poorest communities. School takes first prize for second year running, while also claiming runner-up spot.  Students and staff from The Victory Academy in Chatham are celebrating after performers from the school came first and second in the annual Medway Dance Fusion competition on Tuesday evening. Isambard Brunel Junior School’s fabulous Year 4 choir took part in the Portsmouth Music Hub’s Mad Scientist concert at Portsmouth Guildhall this Monday 27th March. This annual extravaganza features schools from all over the city singing brand new songs written by the Portsmouth Hub’s award-winning composition team which includes our very own Mr Gilmour (Headteacher).  This year all of the songs were science based including a memorable digestion song about a toilet. On Monday 27th March, 8 Year 6 children from Newbridge Junior School were invited to visit the Lord Mayor at the Guildhall in Portsmouth. They were given the opportunity to take a look around the Mayor’s Quarters and Suite which is rich in history with elegant original features.  After the tour they sat down and enjoyed a three course formal lunch!
