We are currently recruiting for a Design Technology Technician to join Plymouth High School for Girls to provide support to the Design Technology department.

Your new role:

As Design & Technology Technician, your work will be directed by the Head of Design & Technology and you will be responsible for

  • Providing professional and reliable support to DT teaching at the school
  • Managing the day to day running of the workshops
  • Ensuring that Health and Safety standards are met throughout the D&T department
  • Assisting with managing the day to day running of the workshops and extra-curricular activities

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • ‘C’ grades or above at GCSE level (or equivalent) in Science, English and Maths
  • Working knowledge of resistant materials, graphic products and textiles, food and nutrition experience is desirable 
  • Good knowledge of computer programmes such as Corel Draw, Solidworks and using a 3D printer/laser cutter
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Effective ICT skills
  • Experience of working with children and young people - committed to supporting students
  • Understanding of the educational system and current developments
  • Ability to motivate and to support learning
