Support

We do not believe teachers improve by attending large impersonal lectures but instead by actively participating in reflective conservations. Each week you will attend a range of small, group reflective session where your voice will be heard and where you will learn from your peers’ expert teachers.

You will be allocated a mentor who is a subject specialist and will offer you personalised support and guidance throughout the training year. You will meet with your mentor on a weekly basis, setting short and long-term targets and reviewing your progress against the Teachers’ Standards that form the basis of your training.

Our induction programme

In order to help you prepare for the year ahead you will be invited to attend an Induction Programme in June for one week.  This is a great opportunity to bond with your fellow trainees and to share your ideas and experience with them. Our induction has a focus upon behaviour management so that you have a strong understanding of the tools you will need to manage students’ behaviour from day one.

Contrast between host and second placement schools

As we have partnerships within a diverse range of both secondary and primary schools, we can offer you the chance to train within contrasting settings, thus greatly enhancing your training experience.

Networking and cross school development opportunities

Working within a successful partnership of schools means that you will be provided with opportunities to share good practice and visit other schools, thus benefitting from the expertise of a wide range of highly skilled professionals.
