This #WeAreOne event centred on World Book Day's mission to change lives by instilling a love of books and encouraging others to read.
The national campaign focuses on promoting reading for pleasure, offering every child and young person the opportunity to have a book of their own.
Throughout the day, our schools will be committing to the message about the importance of reading while also engaging with stories in a special way.
Every year, pupils across our Trust enjoy dressing up not just for fun on World Book Day, but to raise awareness about the importance of having a love for reading.
This year, we’re encouraging children within our primary schools to dress up in their pyjamas and bring their cuddly friend (for the young ones), as well as their favourite book for World Book Day.
Young people in secondary schools experience a lot of pressure, especially around deadlines and exam seasons.
Within secondary schools across the Thinking Schools Academy Trust, we’re encouraging young people and staff to promote the importance of reading for wellbeing on World Book Day.
At the Thinking Schools Academy Trust, we’re looking for our best storytellers.
We are holding a competition for young storytellers to submit a short story with a drawing to accompany it that incorporates the values of our schools.
The top three stories from each school will be framed and sent to the school as a digital file to print and display. The first-prize winner will have their story published in an A4 booklet that will showcase the winners from every school across our Trust.
