This is the first time we have run Remembrance Day as a #WeAreOne event, uniting our schools to honour the fallen together.
To celebrate Remembrance, students created vibrant poppy and battlefield displays and spoke about why it is important to remember those who sacrificed their today for our tomorrow.
Schools welcomed serving and veteran soldiers into their classrooms to discuss the vital work they do and the importance of remembering the great wars throughout the years. Students sold poppies to support the Royal British Legion and created wreaths, waterfalls, and displays to mark the occasion. We are extremely proud of how our young people represented their schools and the Trust when participating in local services and visiting their communities.
Together, we stopped and reflected during our two-minute silence at 11 o'clock, honouring those who have given their lives to fight for our freedom.
We will remember them.
Take a moment to enjoy a reading of John McCrae's poem, In Flanders Field, from Mandy Gage, our Trust Director of Culture and Development.
