One community, one cause: Thinking Schools Academy Trust supports RNLI

Students, staff and families from across Thinking Schools Academy Trust came together in an inspiring show of community spirit last week as part of the Community Champions WeAreOne event, our annual opportunity to unite behind a shared cause and celebrate the power of collective action.

This year, our schools rallied in support of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), which was recently selected as our Charity of the Year following a vote by our Trust's pupil voice. The charity will now be supported across the Trust through to next summer, helping to raise awareness of the RNLI's life-saving work around the coast and on inland waterways.

The week was filled with creativity, energy and generosity of our Trust community, with schools and teams organising a wide range of fundraising activities. From cake sales and bake-offs to superhero dress-up days, fitness challenges, competitions and community events, everyone found their own way to get involved and make a difference.

Thanks to the incredible efforts of our schools, thousands of pounds have already been raised, with donations still being counted and the final total yet to be confirmed. The fantastic response highlights not only the generosity of our trust community, but also the enthusiasm with which colleagues and students embraced the campaign.

At our Trust Leadership Conference, attendees raised more than £800 for the RNLI through fundraising activities and donations. You can make a donation here

The impact of the campaign has not gone unnoticed by the RNLI itself. Responding to one of our social media posts, the charity shared its appreciation, commenting: “Oh this is SO amazing – thank you so much.”

The message reflects the positive impact that our collective efforts can have when we work together to support an important cause.

WeAreOne is about much more than fundraising. It is an opportunity for our Trust to come together as one community with one common goal, strengthening connections between our schools while making a meaningful difference beyond the classroom. The success of this year's campaign demonstrates what can be achieved when students, staff and families unite behind a shared purpose.

As we continue our partnership with the RNLI over the coming year, there will be many more opportunities to raise awareness, support the charity's vital work and build on the momentum created during WeAreOne week.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, donated, volunteered and supported the campaign. Together, we have made an incredible start to our year-long partnership with the RNLI, and the journey is only just beginning.
