Promoting the importance of good attendance

At The Thinking Schools Academy Trust, our schools and colleges continually promote why attending school every day is essential for a young person's success.

Our CEO Stuart Gardner recently supported The Portsmouth Academy with their celebrations to recognise 100% attendance.

He said: "Having good attendance and being present for every lesson is an essential part of a pupil's success, and it is fantastic to see schools from across our Trust encouraging everyday attendance. From celebration assemblies to handing out certificates, attendance is an ongoing challenge in schools across the country, but it remains our priority to improve, and we welcome creative ways to celebrate success.

"Last week, I had the pleasure of joining the team at The Portsmouth Academy to congratulate and reward pupils for good attendance. They have launched the 100% campaign, an initiative to acknowledge pupils who have 100% attendance over a period of time with a sweet treat. With the Easter break just around the corner, of course the school chose Easter eggs for 478 pupils to enjoy, an increase of 52 since last term. Well done to everyone involved."
