Thinking Food Launches at Brixham College!

Thinking Food Launches at Brixham College!

We are incredibly proud to have launched our very own catering service at Brixham College: Thinking Food!

As the newest member of the Thinking Schools Academy Trust, Brixham College has adopted our cognitive approach to education, which holds the development of thinking skills and tools at the heart of its teaching methods. Thinking Food embodies this ethos, with a varied menu designed to fuel students’ thinking with a range of balanced, nutritious meals.

We have partnered with Educatering, a branch of Goosemoor Foodservice Ltd, to create a unique menu which is both global and local: it provides students with an opportunity to explore worldwide flavours and cuisines, whilst being dedicated to using local suppliers and sustainable produce.

Thinking Food at Brixham College operates across three serving stations: The Hut, The Shack and The Canteen. The Hut serves a variety of pizza and pasta dishes daily, while The Shack specialises in ‘Grab ‘n’ Go’ and ‘Light Bites’ and The Canteen offers main meals. Students have a huge range of meals and snacks to choose from, including vegan and vegetarian options. Main meals range from British classics like ‘Yorkshire pudding wraps’ and ‘Proper Cornish sausage rolls’, to more exotic options such as ‘Katsu Chicken Curry’ and ‘Halloumi and Red Pepper Burgers’.

The first term of Thinking Food has been highly successful, with certain student favourites even selling out!

“Thinking Food is an exciting new venture for the Thinking Schools Academy Trust, and it is wonderful to see the positive impact it is already having on our students at Brixham College. I would like to thank and congratulate the staff at Brixham College and our Central Teams for the successful launch of Thinking Food, as well as the Educatering team at Goosemoor Foodservice Ltd who have been fantastic. Together, we have created a unique, sustainable catering service of which I am very proud, and I look forward to seeing what the future holds for Thinking Food,” said Lee Miller MBE, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Thinking Schools Academy Trust.

“Launching Thinking Food at Brixham College as part of the Thinking Schools Academy Trust has been an incredible opportunity for our school, and we are so proud of its success. Our students are really enjoying the brand-new menu on offer to them, and it’s great to see them trying new flavours and enjoying a range of choices. Sustainability and the environment are important to many of our young people, so to be working with locally sourced produce and offering vegetarian and vegan options is fantastic. Thank you and well done to all staff at Brixham, our Trust and Educatering for making Thinking Food possible!” said Julie Chubb, Business Manager at Brixham College.

Congratulations to all at Brixham College and our Trust’s Business Development Team on a successful launch; we are very excited for the future of Thinking Food!
